Where Have Your Flannels Gone: Michel's Story
There’s something about Vermont Flannel that sticks with you — like the way maple syrup clings to your fingers on a crisp fall morning. Folks don’t just wear our flannel, they live in it, travel in it, and build stories around it. And every so often, we hear from someone whose flannel journey reminds us exactly why we do what we do.
This year, as we celebrate International Plaid Day on October 3rd, Michel’s story feels like the perfect reminder of how far a good flannel can go.

CUSTOMER PHOTO & STORY BY MICHEL B.
"I bought my first Vermont Flannel shirt in 2015, and since then, it's been true love! I own six or seven at home, my girlfriend has one, my dad has one, my friend from France has one, and even my ex has one (proof that breakups are temporary, but good flannel is forever).

I consider myself an unofficial Vermont Flannel ambassador because I take my shirt everywhere — it’s basically part of my identity now. From Quebec to Belgium, Slovenia to Alaska, my Vermont Flannel shirts are hands down the most cherished items in my wardrobe.

Why do I love them so much? Because they’re ridiculously comfy and American-made, which means top-notch quality. Honestly, if my house were on fire, I’d probably save them first! 🔥👕😂"

Featured Favorite: The Fitted Shirt
Michel swears by our unisex Fitted Shirt — a slimmer fit that still feels easy, broken-in, and true. He’s collected pattern after pattern over the years, each one tied to a memory from his travels. It’s the kind of shirt that becomes more than just clothing — it turns into part of your story.
