INSIDE THE GIFT SHOP:

DARN TOUGH SOCKS

In Vermont, you learn early what holds up, and what doesn’t. That’s part of why we built our Vermont Gift Shop the way we did: simple, dependable goods made by people who care about getting it right.

Darn Tough socks fit that standard. Knit in Vermont and built for everyday wear, they’re the kind of thing you buy once and keep reaching for.

Made in Vermont, Because It Matters

Darn Tough doesn’t make socks in Vermont because it’s easy. They do it because it’s the right way to do it.

Their mills in Northfield see some of the toughest weather in the country, smack dab in the middle of a state filled with outdoor rec. That’s where their socks are tested, refined, and improved over time. It’s not theory. It’s lived-in experience.

The difference shows up the longer you wear it. Just like our flannel, which shows up from time to time in their factory, and helps get the work done.

One Thing, Done Right

Darn Tough focuses on one product: socks. And they’ve spent decades getting them right.

Comfort, durability, and fit aren’t talking points. They’re the whole point. Every pair is knit with intention, using merino wool that holds its shape, manages moisture, and stays comfortable through long days and changing seasons.

If you’ve ever relied on a Vermont Flannel that just keeps going, you already understand the idea: make it well, and it takes care of the rest.

Guaranteed for Life

Here’s what sets them apart: every pair is backed by an unconditional lifetime guarantee.

If your socks wear out, Darn Tough replaces them.

That kind of promise only works if the product holds up—and these do. It’s the same thinking we bring to our flannel shirts and layers: build it to last, and stand behind it.

A Vermont Story That Held On

Darn Tough started as a family mill in Northfield, Vermont. When others moved manufacturing overseas, they stayed and doubled down. It wasn’t the easy choice. But it was the right one.

In 2004, they launched their first socks with a simple promise: if you can wear them out, they’ll replace them. People put that promise to the test, and the socks held up. Word spread, and the rest followed.

Today, they’re still knitting in Vermont, still improving, and still making one of the most dependable socks you can buy.
