Meet Mark
How long have you worked at the company?
I started working for the company in September 2021, so I have been working here for over 2 years now.
What do you do in your role?
I am a cutter, so I lay out layers of fabric, trace patterns onto said fabric, then cut the fabric so that the stitchers can sew the pieces into our wonderful flannel products.
What do you love about the company?
What I love most about the company is that there is a real comradery here. We do potlucks, celebrate each other's birthdays, and help each other when needed.
What is your favorite product?
My favorite product is the Men's Classic Shirt. I have always been a fan of flannel shirts, and ours our the best.
What is a fun fact about you?
[Mark had so many fun facts, we couldn’t choose just one!]
1. I was founded the same year as the company, 1991.
2. I have two little dogs, named Gary and Mayo, and they love to cuddle with Ash and I in our flannel pajamas.
3. I love being able to give gifts to my friends that I know I can tell them I made with my own hands.
Meet Kevin
How long have you worked at the company?
I’ve worked for the company since October 2021. Like so many of our local customers, I’d probably passed by the store a million times without really knowing what Vermont Flannel was all about. Finally stopping by out of curiosity, it was easy to see why the company’s mission is to “Provide World Comfort.” The quality and stitching of our flannel products can’t be beat!
What do you do in your role?
I work side by side with our Johnson Team as Retail Store Manager and have the privilege of working with production as well.
What do you love about the company?
Besides providing a high quality product, The Vermont Flannel Company values its employees by providing them with work-life balance. Working with Vermont Flannel is like an extended family with the wellbeing of employees the number one priority. And what I especially like is the fact that upper management is easily accessible and welcomes your ideas and input. What I value the most is the interaction, support, and comradery between my fellow managers, and the staff as a whole. I couldn’t ask for a better work environment.
What is your favorite product?
Out of all the products that Vermont Flannel has to offer, I would say that my favorites are our jackets and shackets! Our heavyweight flannel is exceptionally warm and cozy. Fall is my favorite season, and it just wouldn’t be complete without my Vermont Flannel.
What is a fun fact about you?
When I am not working at the shop, you can find me at home working on my many hobbies such as Model Trains, Antique Pump Organs, or Vintage Sewing Machines.
Meet Jolene
How long have you worked at the company?
I just had my three year anniversary.
What do you do in your role?
As a production lead, I oversee the production floor, which includes cutting and sewing. The primary product we make in Johnson is the Flannel Lounge Pants, as well as some accessories like the beanies and infinity scarves. I spend my time at a sewing machine or doing paperwork. I also oversee the boxing and shipping of our finished products to our stores.
What do you love about the company?
I love our fabric! It's high quality and great to work with.
What is your favorite product?
I love to wear our Women's Classic Button Down.
What is a fun fact about you?
At our house, we have three furry overlords...I mean cats. They are so spoiled!
