Inducted into the 2010 "Made in the USA" Hall of Fame

The Vermont Flannel Company, East Barre, VT, was awarded the Made in the USA Foundation’s Hall of Fame Award. The company received the award for its dedication and commitment to manufacturing its apparel in the United States.

A family-owned company, The Vermont Flannel Company has been manufacturing most of their flannel apparel in their East Barre, Vermont, production facilities for more than 20 years. As the name suggests, the company handcrafts flannel apparel, including sleepwear, loungewear, clothing, and more.

"We’re honored to receive this award," says Mark Baker, Vermont flannel president. "We have remained committed to manufacturing our clothing in the US, and are excited to be recognized for this commitment."

The Made in the USA Foundation Hall of Fame Award was awarded to companies that have remained steadfast and refuse to outsource, that have strived to export, and that have continued to improve quality.

"The Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Made in the USA Hall of Fame," says Foundation Chairman Joel D.Joseph. "We have considered hundreds of worthy nominees, but have selected only 20. All of the companies that we have named to the Hall of Fame are exemplary American companies that produce very high quality products. All of these companies also export their products around the world."

Hall of Fame inductees include businesses of all sizes and from all segments of manufacturing, including major corporations as well as family-owned businesses from industries ranging from apparel and footwear to furniture and specialty goods. Another Vermont company to receive the award was Simon Pearce.
