10 Reasons why we love summers in Vermont

#1: WINTER

The #1 reason why we love Vermont summers so much is that Vermont winters can be very, very long !

#2: WATER

Vermont waterfalls. Vermont water sports and recreation. Vermont rivers. Vermont lakes. Enough said ?

#3: ICE CREAM

There are so many fine places in Vermont to find ice cream! First, we are home to the classic Vermont maple creemee. Next, there's Chill, the artisan gelato company in the state capitol of Montpelier. In the picturesque village of Groton, there's a meadery called Artesano that offers handcrafted ice cream (made from local dairy products with flavors like rhubarb, maple, real mint and more) ! Don't forget to visit the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury, Vermont, or Lake Champlain Chocolates for more sweet, icy goodness!

#4: HIKING

What can we say... Vermont trees. Vermont birds. Vermont mountains Vermont rocks. We love to bring our stadium blankets along for picnics.

#5: BONFIRES & STARGAZING

In Vermont, you may be lucky enough to witness the Northern Lights, a magnificent meteor shower or an amazing number of stars above ! When summer nights get chilly, nothing beats a good bonfire.

#6: WILDFLOWERS

From the swamp rose to goldenrod, the summer wildflowers of Vermont are beautiful and fascinating !

#7: CAMPING

Endless camping opportunities await us in the state of Vermont. Where is your favorite place to camp ? Let us know in a comment !

#8: FARMERS & GARDENERS

We love Vermont farmers and gardeners who work hard to help produce ripe summer tomatoes, fresh corn on the cob and juicy, sweet watermelon.

#9: FESTIVALS

From the Burlington Jazz Festival to the Vermont Festival of the Arts, there's a summertime gathering for everyone !

#10: FLANNEL TIED AROUND THE WAIST
